LAHORE, July 11: Two laboureres were killed when an under-construction house collapsed in Harbanspura on Friday.
Police and civic agencies reached the spot and managed to recover three labourers, who were at work at the time of the collapse, in critical condition. They were first taken to the Shalamar Hospital from where they were shifted to the Lahore General Hospital. Two of them died after the first-aid and the third one was stated to be in critical condition.
One of them was identified as Muhammad Yousuf. The bodies were sent to the city mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, death toll in Wassanpura roof collapse rose to four on Friday
Police said two rooms of a dilapidated house owned by Hayat Ahmad collapsed on Thursday night when he, his wife Mehnaz Bibi and four children —- Aaisha (10), Aroosa (14), Iqra (12) and 17-year-old Danish —- were asleep.
The body of Hayat and that of his children — Danish, Aroosa and Iqra — were recovered from the rubble and handed over to the relatives without autopsy.
Mehnaz and Aaisha were removed hospital in critical condition.
