SKARDU, July 7: Two mountaineers of a Spanish-Argentinean expedition team have gone missing while scaling the 8,068 metre Gashabrum-1 peak in the Karakoram range, Skardu Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abbas Baitham told Dawn on Monday.

He said the 7-member expedition was trying to scale Gashabrum-I in the Baltoto region when Nacy Noemi of Argentina and Jose Manuel of Spain went missing on July 5. “It is feared that they might have fallen in a crevasse,” he said.—Correspondent
