LAHORE, July 1: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has ordered the authorities concerned to ensure strict compliance with the ban on kite-flying.

Talking to APP on Tuesday, the chief minister appreciated the decision and said the city government had taken a right step to save human lives and financial resources.

He said that civil society should also play its role in discouraging hobbies like kite-flying and promoting healthy activities.

The government would use all options at its disposal to control the menace and ensure implementation of the ban, the chief minister said, adding no one involved in the crime would be spared.

“It is a matter of great concern that several people have lost their lives in accidents related to kite-flying,” he said.
