KARACHI, June 27: Adviser to Sindh chief minister on home affairs Aftab Ahmed Shaikh said on Friday that the government would eliminate drug menace.

Speaking at a meeting at his office, Aftab Ahmed Shaikh said drug dens in some parts of Karachi, especially North Nazimabad, Lyari and New Karachi, are destroying future of our youths.

He said it was brought to his knowledge that some officials were reluctant to take action against anti-social elements.

The adviser has directed to police officers to take strict action against such elements.

Aftab Shaikh expressed concern over presence of drug dens in the limits of certain police stations and ordered the police to eliminate such drug dens so that youths could be saved.—APP
