ISLAMABAD, June 27: The Central Board of Revenue has directed all collectors of customs to clear all consignments lying at ports to raise maximum revenue for achieving the annual target of Rs458.9 billion.
Well-placed sources told Dawn on Friday the CBR chairman has also directed the commissioners of income tax for realising maximum revenue during June.
The tax authorities have to collect Rs68 billion in June this year to achieve the target against the last year collection of Rs60 billion, an increase of Rs8 billion.
During the period July-May of the current financial year the tax authorities collected Rs392.2 billion against the last year collection of Rs343.538 billion, an increase of over 14 per cent.
