KARACHI, June 21: Four ships carrying DAP fertilizer, containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where all the new arrivals were berthed. They are: Kota Tegap, Wehr Havel to offload and load containers, Emirate Peace to unload base oil and British Adventure, to offload oils.
Three ships, Kota Indah, Frauke and Northern Bell departed on Saturday, while Sima Bahar, Emirate Peace, British Adventure, Atlantic Zues, Kota Tegap, Coral Highway, Mar Challenger and Beteigeuze are due to sail out on Sunday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 87,764 tons comprising 32,429 tons of export cargo and 55,335 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Ocean Starlight, Cape Negro, with containers, Pandora-P, with 32,000 tons of DAP fertilizer and Le Cong, with 5,663 tons of general cargo.
The following vessels are due on Monday: Irene, with 1,800 tons of chemicals and Kota Waliaya, with containers.
KARACHI, June 21: Brisk cargo handling activity was observed at the port where a cargo volume of 100,942 tons comprising 88,651 tons of import tonnage and 12,291 tons of export cargo was handled during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Saturday.
Berth occupancy was also maintained on the higher side as seven ships, London, Francisca Schulte, E.R Albany, New Setokaze, Stolt Avenier, Lister and Juno Island were busy in loading/unloading containers, wheat and edible oil, furnace oil and iron ore respectively.
Sailing activity was remain slow as only one ship, London, departed, while E.R Albany and Lister were due to leave the port.
Meanwhile, a container ship, Saudi Hofuf arrived at the outer anchorage and was expected to take berth at QICT, while Southern Knight, Chem Star King and British Adventure were due.
