KARACHI, June 20: Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Vice President of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, has expressed his confidence that a no-trust move against the National Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Amir Hussain would succeed.
Talking to newsmen at the Quaid-i-Azam Airport on his arrival on Friday, Qazi Saheb alleged that the government was trying to defeat the move through horse trading. However, he declared, all its attempts would fail.
He was of the view that speaker had lost confidence of the house and claimed that Chaudhary Amir Hussain had sabotaged the recent dialogue between the government and opposition parties at the behest of some hidden forces.
He said that the MMA was striving to strengthen democratic institutions so that the country could be taken out of the present crisis. He said that MMA’s protest was peaceful and legal.
On Kashmir, he said that no American or Indian plan would be acceptable. Maintaining that Kashmir is a disputed territory, he called upon the US and UN authorities to make India accept this reality and stop her excesses against innocent Kashmiris. He also deplored attempts aimed at recognizing Israel.
