KARACHI June 20: The convener of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s coordination committee and a candidate for NA-255 by- elections said that complete provincial autonomy is essential for the integrity of Pakistan.

He was talking to the people from Gilgit and Baltistan origin in Awami Colony and members of Panwhar Baradri and Burmese and Bengali origin in Burmi Colony on Friday.

He said that complete unity among all people was only possible, when injustices against smaller province would be stopped and the provinces would be given complete autonomy.

He said that the provincial government had initiated and completed many projects for the welfare of people, which included girls college in Landhi, medical complex and road projects in a short span of time. He asked the city government about what it had done for the welfare of the citizens.

As the Panwhar Baradri could play significant role in elections in this constituency, Dr Farooq Sattar, met their leaders and mustered support. He said that the people of Landhi had overcome the element of fear, which had dominated their mindset during the past decade and people of the area were now willingly to participate in the democratic process.
