KARACHI, June 12: Five ships carrying chemicals, general cargo and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Al-Manakh, Sima Bahar, Kota Intan and Hyundai Advance were berthed to unload and load containers after the departure of two ships.

Kota Intan, Belga Inspiration departed on Thursday, while Gestone, Guang Huaman, Al-Manakh, Tarpon Santiago, Mar Challenger, CMC Pearl, Sima Bahar and MOL Sincerity are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed a modest expansion totalling 69,475 tons comprising 21,430 tons of export cargo and 48,045 tons of import tonnage.

The import tonnage comprised mainly 43,855 tons of general goods, 2,891 tons of fertilizer and 1,299 tons of phosphate.

The following ships are due on Friday: Esberger Pilot, with 1,400 tons of chemicals, British Adventure, with oil, Kota Teraju and Wan Hai-301, with containers and B.B.C. Norway, with general cargo.
