LAHORE, June 10: The Lahore High Court Bar Association on Monday announced that they would remove calenders bearing the photograph of the chief justice of Pakistan from the bar room, library of the LHC and private chambers as a mark of protest.
LHC bar president Hafiz Abdul Rehman Ansari also announced that the lawyers would burn the effigy of President Gen Pervez Musharraf on June 13, saying they did not recognize him as president. He said that the copies of the LFO would also be burnt on the same day to convey the message that it was an extra-constitutional package.
“This symbolic protest is aimed at making the government realise that the lawyers are going to pursue their anti-LFO stance more vehemently following the government interference in the Joint Action Committee’s planned action against the Supreme Court judges,” he said.
