15 arrested

QUETTA, June 7: Police claimed to have arrested around 15 activists of two defunct religious parties during raids late on Friday on various seminaries in connection with the killing of the superintendent, Geological Survey of Pakistan.

“We have taken some activists of defunct religious parties into custody for questioning about the murder of a government official,” a senior police officer said and added that more arrests could not be ruled out in this connection.

Two unknown men killed Superintendent Syed Niaz Hussain on Friday morning when he was on his way to office at Sariab Road. Police consider it a sectarian killing.
