MIRPURKHAS, June 7: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar has said sufficient water is available in canals and the government has put an end to the water rotation programme in canals.
Speaking at a press conference at the circuit house here on Saturday, he said the Sindh government had allocated Rs510 million to provide clean drinking water to the people of Mirpurkhas and improve the drainage system in the district.
He said telemetry system had been introduced to ensure judicious distribution of water. He expressed the hope that tail-end areas would be supplied with water.
The chief minister said it would be ensured that Sindh received its share of water.
Mr Mahar said there was a close coordination between Sindh and district governments and they would work jointly for smooth running of the district government system.
Answering a question, he denied differences with the Sindh governor.
Referring to the transfer of the Sindh chief secretary, he said transfers and postings were part and parcel of the government job and there was nothing unusual.
About the formation of the Khidmat group by Sultan Khuhawar, he claimed that the group would serve the cause of the people.
The chief minister avoided comments on the Legal Framework Order.
DECOMPOSED BODY: The decomposed body of an employee of the irrigation department was recovered from the Mithrao Canal near Ram Jagi Mori, Samaro taluka, on Friday night.
The sub-Darogha, Abdul Khaliq Jutt, had fallen in the canal two days back.
The body was handed over to relatives after autopsy.
KILLED: A man was killed and two others were injured when the Brohi and the Dal clansmen clashed over a mango orchard contract in Haji Salih Lakho village on Tuesday.
A mango orchard of the members of the Dal clan had been given on contract basis to Israr Ahmed Qureshi on which the Brohi clansmen had an objection.
On Tuesday, after some arguments between the Dals and the Brohis, an armed clash took place as a result Babu Dal, 25, was killed on the spot while his father, Mir Mohammad Dal, and Ali Bukhsh Brohi sustained serious bullet injuries.
