KARACHI, May 31: Two jobless young men committed suicide in the city on Saturday.
Eid Zaman, 30, was jobless, and had failed to supplement his family income. He under a fit of utter frustration took out his licensed TT pistol and shot himself in his chest and died on the spot.
The police removed the body to Civil Hospital for autopsy. It was later handed to his family.
In another incident, Mohammad Masood, 18, hanged himself in his PIB Colony home.
Police said Maqsood had been looking for a job for the past many months and having failed to get one, he became frustrated. The family told the police that Maqsood remained quiet and gloomy for the past sometime and did not behave like a normal human being.
ACCIDENT: A father of two died after being hit by a train in Railway Cantt area on Saturday.
Railway police said Syed Sajid Hussain Shah, 35, was trying to cross the railway tracks when he was hit by a train coming from the upcountry.
In a road accident, an unidentified man, in his mid 30s, was crushed to death on Super Highway in Sachal police limits early Saturday morning.
The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy where the identity of the deceased could not be established.
The body was later kept at Edhi morgue for identification. Police said the Suzuki pick-up, responsible for the accident, was impounded. However, the driver of the vehicle escaped from the scene.
DIES: A married woman, who had suffered burns at her Korangi home some two-and-a-half months back, died at a hospital on Saturday.
Police and hospital officials said that Fazeelat, 25, wife of Hasan Hussein, suffered burns in her home in Nasir Colony, Korangi, on March 12.
BUS LOOTED: Four youth on Saturday deprived passengers of a Metro bus (9 B-Express) of cash and mobile phones near the Regent Plaza.
The four boarded the bus near the FTC building and intimidated the passengers with their weapons, slapping one of them to subdue them.
They got off the bus near the Lucky Star bus stop.
One of the passengers, criticizing the law and order situation, urged the management of the bus service to increase security on their busses.
