KARACHI: Bail granted

KARACHI, Dec 12: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, comprising Justice Mohammed Roshan Essani and Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, granted bail on Wednesday to Khushi Mohammed Bhutto, a former director of the PTCL, against a solvent surety of Rs2 million.

The applicant was sentenced by an accountability court at Karachi in a corruption case. He was tired for living beyond his known source of income. The AC held him guilty and awarded him seven years’s rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs100 million.

A. Q. Halepota, appearing for the applicant, sought bail on medical grounds. After perusing the case papers and medical reports, the court admitted the accused to bail, and the main appeal file.—APP
