KARACHI, May 29: A high-level meeting of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) discussed on Thursday projects being launched by the authority during the current year.
A press statement said that Corps Commander Lt-Gen Tariq Waseem Ghazi, who is also the president of the DHA Executive Board, presided over the meeting.
The meeting reviewed projects that included development of DHA water front, an exquisite public recreational facility. The project envisages a panorama of marine and water oriented facilities along with the modern housing projects.
The statement said that a modern, self-contained garden style resort comprising condominium apartments by the name of Creek City was also planned to be built in DHA phase VIII. President Gen Pervez Musharraf was expected to perform the ground breaking ceremony of the project, it added.
The meeting approved the wind turbines project to harness wind power for generating electricity at a limited scale for street lights in the DHA.—APP
