HYDERABAD, May 27: An under-trial prisoner, Rab Dino Shoro, died in his barrack at the Central Jail, Hyderabad, late Monday night.
He was facing trial in two separate narcotic cases, registered by the Hatri police. He was charge-sheeted in the cases about six months back.
The chief medical officer of the jail’s hospital, Pir Manzoor, said that Rab Dino had never remained a patient of his hospital and he had never been sent to another hospital.
He said that he had learnt from the inmates of his barrack that the prisoner had dined at 10pm, then went off to sleep; he then woke up at 12am and drank water after which he suddenly fell and died.
The chief medical officer said that it could be a case of cardiac arrest.
