HYDERABAD, May 20: Sindh Agriculture University authorities, Tando Jam, through a letter have warned 18 employees (Employees Action Committee) of the university to refrain from “unwanted activities” and resume their duties failing which legal action will be taken against them.

Meanwhile, the university employees continued their protest for the ninth consecutive day here on Tuesday against the retired officers and the wrong policies of the vice chancellor. All work in the university remained suspended.

PROBLEMS RESOLVED: The Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union (CBA) has said that following a meeting between the Wapda administration and representatives of the CBA at the Wapda House, Lahore, many problems of the employees had been resolved.

Speaking at a press conference at the labour hall here on Tuesday, the central president of the CBA union, Abdul Latif Nizamani, said that interim allowance of the employees had been restored and the deduction of Rs400 per month of 6 to 9 grade employees had been stopped.

He said that the hardship allowance of the employees working at Guddu, Muzaffargarh, Jamshoro, Ghazi Barotha, Kotri and Chashma Hydel Power houses and projects had also been restored.

He said that the promotion quota of clerical staff in grade-II had also been increased and it has been decided that the contractual and temporary employees would not be retrenched.

He further said that the grid station staff in Balochistan would also get hardship allowance, and added that Wapda administration had assured the union that the surplus workers of water wing and thermal power employees would be absorbed as far as possible.

He said on the demand of the CBA, Wapda has also decided to establish 50-bed hospitals in big cities such as Quetta, Hyderabad, Multan, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Peshawar to provide medical facilities to the employees and their families.
