KUWAIT CITY, May 10: A Pakistani business delegation, headed by Export Promotion Bureau chairman Tariq Ikram, is due to arrive here on May 23-26, to talk to Kuwaiti businessmen and companies for joint ventures or direct involvement in projects in Iraq.

The delegation will comprise 30 businessmen from the construction, pharmaceuticals, cables and electrical, daily consumer products, healthcare, pipes and steel companies.

According to sources, Kuwait had already given Pakistani companies as a most favoured status, and that Pakistan could get a handsome share in the reconstruction of Iraq.

The sources said Pakistan had already evolved a strategy to earn $500-$750 from Iraq’s reconstruction and expressed the hope the delegation would have fruitful negotiations with Kuwaiti businessmen and companies.

The EPB chairman also visited Kuwait last month and held talks with Iraq’s interim government head Gay Garner, Kuwait minister of commerce Saleh Khurshed and other higher officials.
