WASHINGTON, May 7: The United States expects to submit a resolution to the UN Security Council within days, calling for sanctions against Iraq to be lifted, a State Department official said on Wednesday.

“It’s a matter of days ... I’d go for days,” the official said.

The resolution will also place Iraq’s oil revenues under US control until an interim authority is established in the country. —AFP
