TEL AVIV, May 6: Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told visiting US envoy William Burns on Monday that he was “ready to meet Syrian leaders, when and where they choose, and with no pre-conditions”.

Israeli public radio said the premier had received several messages concerning Syria’s offer to restart negotiations with the Jewish state.—AFP
