KARACHI: Robbers kill two

KARACHI, April 30: A driver of a private company was shot dead by car-snatchers on Wednesday.

Police said that Ali Hasan, 40, was making a purchase in Tipu Sultan when two armed men tried to snatch his vehicle (BC-6746).

When Ali put up resistance, the two men shot him and fled.

The victim was rushed to the JPMC where he died.

KILLED: A young passenger died when armed bandits opened fire at a passenger bus on Super Highway on Wednesday morning.

Police said that unknown armed men tried to stop a passenger bus. The driver of the vehicle, sensing trouble, tried to speed away the vehicle.

However, the armed men opened fire at the bus from behind, wounding Ali Rehman, a passenger.

The victim died before he could be shifted to hospital. The armed suspects fled from the spot following the incident.

ACCIDENT: A young man died in a road traffic accident at the Rashid Minhas Road on Wednesday.

Police said that Ali Akbar, aged 35, was knocked down by a speeding minibus while crossing the road.

The victim was rushed to the JPMC where he died during treatment. Police impounded the vehicle, but the errant driver fled from the spot.
