DHAKA, April 30: Bangladesh and India have agreed to complete demarcation of the land boundary and exchange of enclaves for a peaceful management of the borders.

The consensus came at the foreign-secretary level meeting held in Dhaka on Tuesday.

According to the consensus, the Joint Boundary Working Group (JBWG) would be reconstituted and meet soon to work for early resolution to the pending issue of border demarcation, said a joint statement after the meeting on Tuesday evening.

Both sides expressed their security concerns at the meeting and agreed to “stop cross-border illegal movement of people.”

The Indian side expressed concern over the activities of insurgent groups. In response, the Bangladesh side said that they do not allow any insurgent groups and reaffirmed its commitment not to allow its territory for any activities inimical to the interests of India.
