Ulfat shines

ISLAMABAD, April 20: Punjab and Diamond Clubs scored victories in the on-going ICA-PTV Cricket League Championship on Sunday.

Thanks to Ulfat Hussain’s unbeaten knock of 87 and Waseem Raza’s haul of five wickets, Punjab defeated King’s Gymkhana by 84 runs while Diamond hammered OGDC by 136 runs, Farrukh Hayat leading the way with a fine 103.

Diamond bt OGDC by 136 runs. Diamond 202-7 in 25 overs (Farrukh Hayat 103 not out; Hammad Saleem 2-39, Liaqat Bashir 2- 35);

OGDC 66 in 17.5 overs (Amjad Mehmood 18 not out; Yasin Bari 4-19, Irfan Manzoor 2-12).

Galaxy bt Essco by four wkts. Essco 112 in 26.1 overs (Salman Baig 42; Hassan Shafique 3-30, Sohail Akram 3-32, Ramzan Khan 3- 4);

Galaxy 115-6 in 23 overs (Haider Abbas 28, Khurrum Masood 28 not out, Ramzan Khan 17 not out; Waqar Akbar 3-49, Mumtaz Akbar 2-16).

In two other matches, Rawal Town defeated Noorpur by three wickets with Hasan Memorial downing Margalla by six wickets.
