Moin to represent Karachi in Trophy

KARACHI, Dec 4: Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan is to play for Karachi in the forthcoming Quaid-e-Azam Trophy cricket tournament, it was officially announced.

Karachi, last year’s runnersup, have announced 100 probables for its two teams which will compete in the Trophy matches starting from Jan 2 at various venues of the country.

Moin, 27, has been out of favour at national level since Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand in March early this year. Eighteen teams from all over Pakistan will compete in the Quaid Trophy, one of the two premier first-class cricket tournaments in Pakis-tan.

The teams are divided into two pools with the top two qualifying for the final.

Meanwhile, The KCCA has invited the following players to report for trials to select two KCCA teams for the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade I on 5th and 6th December 2001 at 1.00 p.m. at the National Stadium Academy nets.

Munir Hussain, President KCCA, has formed the following selection committee for the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy. Lt. Col. Mustahsan Billah, Chairman, Aftab Baloch, Shoaib Habib and Zafar Ahmed, who will also be member-secretary of the Committee.
