Karim top seed

ISLAMABAD, April 7: Top seed Karim Darwish of Egypt is among a host of foreign players who will be competing in the Pakistan Circuit No 2 Squash Tournament starting in Lahore from April 30.

Karim, at No 9, is the highest ranked player in the tournament that also features Egyptians Amr Shabana (No 16), Omar Elborossy (No 19) and Mohammad Abbas along with Britain’s Adrian Grant, Dan Jenson of Australia and Malaysian Mohd Azlan Iskander.

Among the Pakistanis will be world No 14 Mansoor Zaman, Shahid Zaman and Farrukh Zaman with Saeed Hassan coming in on a wild card.

The qualifying round that takes place on April 28 and 29 has Pakistanis Shamsul Islam Khan, Aijaz Azmat, Arshad Iqbal Burki and Muhammad Ilyas.

The tournament being sponsored by Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Limited (PTCL) offers a prize purse of $25,000.
