LAHORE, March 30: Hundreds of women participated in a walk against war on Iraq from the Qadhafi Stadium here on Sunday.

Women from all age groups gathered outside the Qadhafi Stadium and walked towards the Liberty Market parking area, raising slogans against the war.

They were carrying Iraqi flags and placards inscribed with slogans condemning the US-UK aggression and the failure of the UN and different countries to prevent the war.

Before dispersing, they prayed for the world peace, victory of the Iraqi people and defeat of the aggressors. They also expressed sympathies with the Iraqi families whose members had been killed or injured in bombardment by the allied forces.

The walk was organized by Mrs Sarfraz Ayaz, Begum Abida Gurmani, Mrs Pervaiz Malik, Mrs M Saleem and Mrs Shehla Javed.
