FAISALABAD, March 20: Five industrialists were arrested for default on Thursday.
The court bailiff along with police raided houses of Muhammad Sadiq, Liaquat Ali, Khalid Bashir, Shahid Javed and Majid Ali who owed millions of rupees to different financial institutions.
Sadiq owed Rs4.2 million to Habib Bank and Liaquat Ali Rs2.1 million to Citibank.
PTCL: Pakistan Telecommuni-cation Corporation Limited Chairman Akhtar Ahmed Bajwa has said that a chain of Corporate Customer Services Centres is being set up in the country for providing modern services to the people.
This he said while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the local Corporate Customer Services Centre here on Thursday.
He said that all out efforts were being made for providing better and latest facilities to customers.
For this purpose, he said a maximum number of such centres would be set up in big cities and towns of the country where all facilities would be provided to the people under a one window system.
Highly qualified and trained staff would be deputed at these centres for the convenience of customers, he said.
Rising to the present era of modernization, he said the PTCL was performing its duties efficiently which could be judged from the fact that the net of internet and other technologies were being enhanced rapidly.
Faisalabad Telecommunications Region general manager Abdul Latif Gandapur briefed the PTCL chairman about the progress of the local customer centre and highlighted the system of services.
He said the facilities like installation of pin phone, resolving of complaints about faults of telephones, internal and foreign telegrams, receipt of applications for new connections, issuance of duplicate bills, sale of new telephone sets and directories on cheap rates, provision of CLI facility, voice messaging and internet facility were being provided under the one window operation.
Director phones, Rahat Hameed, said that customers were being provided services of data-communication, digital cross connect, domestic and international lease lines. The plan to set up a bank counter at the customer centre for the receipt of bills and other PTCL charges was also in the pipeline. The sale of prepaid calling cards would also be introduced soon, he said.
