ISLAMABAD, Dec 1: Pakistan are likely to participate in an international hockey tournament at Manchester (England) in March next year, it was learnt Saturday.

Pakistan will compete in the tournament being staged as a warm-up for the Commonwealth Games hockey tournament in Northern England city in July-August. A number of foreign teams have been invited to the tournament at Manchester in March.

Though Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has still to confirm its participation in this tournament, hockey circles are confident of Pakistan appearing at Manchester. The tournament at Manchester will be held just after the World Cup at Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in February-March.

“A short training camp will be organised before participation in the Manchester tournament”, according to sources.—APP
