HYDERABAD, Dec 1: The Sindh High Court Hyderabad circuit bench on Friday issued notices to police officials of Tando Allahyar police station on a constitutional petition, filed by Ali Ahmed, praying for registration of FIRs against two ASIs and a sub-inspector of the said police station.
The petitioner, who moved the court through Yousuf Leghari advocate, named ASIs Amanullah Leghari, Ghulam Hussain Sehto, sub-inspector Gul Hassan Unnar and SHO of the police station as respondents.
The petitioner, who owns a flour mill, claimed that on Oct 5, ASI Amanullah came at his flour mill and told him that he was involved in criminal activities and demanded Rs10,000 from him failing which he would implicate him in other heinous crimes.
He said that he refused to pay the amount and asked the policeman to refrain from misusing his official position on which the ASI threatened that next time he would come with other staff to nab the petitioner.
Ali Ahmed maintained that the ASI with policemen Mohammad Moosa and Mohammad Ishaque entered the mill, abused the petitioner and his relative and snatched Rs7,000 from the petitioner.
He prayed to the court to direct the SHO to register an FIR against other respondents and restrain them from harassing him and causing inconvenience. The court issued notices for Dec 13.
