LAHORE, March 9: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal vice-president Prof Sajid Mir has condemned the kidnap and torture of PML-N parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly Rana Sanaullah.
In a press statement on Sunday, the professor, who had been elected to the Senate on Feb 24 with the PML-N support, said the government had become vindictive against the Rana for being vocal against army.
The Rana had earlier been arrested soon after the army takeover for delivering a speech against the army in a party meeting.
Jamaat-i-Islami (Maudoodi) chief Haider Farooq Maudoodi while reacting to the incident said that every citizen felt insecure due to ‘objectionable’ role of secret agencies.
Condemning the torture of Rana Sana, he said the rulers had developed more hatred for themselves among the masses by resorting to such steps.
The nation could rightfully ask the rulers that who had given the agencies the right to pick up a citizen on their own.
