PARIS, March 8: According to a new plan being proposed by French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, tourists from a number of foreign countries will henceforth be fingerprinted with their digital thumb prints appearing on their visas.

According to his plan, all visitors required to have tourist visas will have their fingerprints placed on file with French police.

Upon arrival at a French airport, a tourist would place his passport in an optical reader, with his thumb print in another: if the two don’t match, then he’d be immediately placed on an outgoing flight back to his home country.
