JACOBABAD: Students oppose war

JACOBABAD, March 7: Workers of the Jamiat Tuleba-e-Islam on Friday staged an anti-war demonstration to protest against the possible war on Iraq by the US and its other anti-Muslim policies.

The demonstration was led by the chief of the Jamiat Ulema-i- Islam-F, Sindh, Maulana Wahid Bakhsh Sadhayo, Maulana Fida Ahmed Dool and Maulana Nasrullah Ghunjo.

MEETING: A meeting was held here on Friday to review the law and order situation and discuss ways and means to maintain peace and security during Muharram.

The meeting, presided over by DCO Shamsuddin Soomro, was attended among others by DPO Agha Abdul Tahir.

The DPO said that arrangements have been made to maintain sectarian harmony in the district, while Ulema of various schools of thought had extended their cooperation in this regard.
