KARACHI, Nov 29: A young man and a four-year-old boy died in road accidents in the city on Thursday.
A young man was run over by a truck in New Karachi. The police said that Imran, aged 24, was going on his motorcycle (KCK-5060) when he was knocked down by a truck (JT-2671) in sector 7-11 in New Karachi. The truck was travelling at very high speed.
Imran was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The driver escaped with the vehicle, the police said.
A four-year-old boy was crushed to death beneath the wheels of a minibus in Quaidabad. The police said that Faizan was playing outside his school in Majeed Colony, Quaidabad, when a minibus (JE-1851) taking the reverse gear killed the boy. The police claimed to have arrested the driver of the minibus.
An unidentified young man, in his 20s, was run over by a railway engine at Chanesar Halt in Mehmoodabad while walking across the railway tracks, the police said. The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem.
DIES: A beggar died in Azizabad on Thursday when the gun of a security guard went off accidentally.
The police said that security guard Hasan Asghar was on duty outside a general store in Federal B-Area’s Block-2 when his repeater gun went off accidentally injuring four pedestrians.
The injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Ibrahim, aged 40, a beggar, died. A girl, Sapna, aged 12, was admitted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Two others, Rahim and Wasim, were admitted to a private hospital. The police arrested the security guard.
KILLED: An unidentified eunuch was found dead in Mehmoodabad on Thursday. The police said that an unknown caller informed Mehmoodabad police station that a body was lying at a deserted place in Rahman Colony, Mehmoodabad.
The police said that apparently there were no torture marks on the body.
The body was trussed up and probably the eunuch was throttled to death, the police said. The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem, the police said.
The body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.
ROBBERIES: Three robberies were committed in the city on Thursday, the police said.
Bandits intercepted Rashid in TPX police area and robbed him of cash and wristwatch. He was also beaten up by the bandits.
Robbers raided the house of Mehfooz at Supermarket in Liaquatabad, held the family as hostage at gunpoint, and got away with cash and valuables.
Armed men barged into the house of Inayat in Gulbahar police limits and looted cash and valuables.
