WANA, June 29 A US drone attack killed 10 militants, including foreigners, in South Waziristan on Tuesday.

According to sources, two missiles fired by an unmanned aircraft hit a 25-room compound in Jaykhel Karez area of Wana where about 200 militants had been residing.

Turkmen and Punjabi Taliban were among those killed, they said.

The building was destroyed. It was the house of a local man, but was under the use of Taliban. A vehicle of the Taliban was also damaged.

Assistant Political Agent Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah said local people would face drone attacks as long as they continued to provide shelter to terrorists.

He said Ahmadzai Wazir tribesmen had been instructed to stop giving sanctuary to militants. He said the government would not allow miscreants to stay in the area and the tribe was accountable for presence of militants in its area under an agreement reached in 2007.

AP adds Intelligence officials said one of the dead was believed to be an Al Qaeda operative.

They said some Arabs were among the victims and four militants were injured in the attack.
