Hailstorm destroys orchards

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 1: Downpour and hailstorm on Friday night destroyed Kino and guavas orchards and also affected wheat crop.

Rain continued in spells in various parts of the district till Saturday afternoon, paralyzing life. Reports said lightning fell on an antenna at a house in Qazi street, disrupting power supply in the locality.

ELECTED: Zafar Abbas Pirzada was elected Rajana Press Club president for two years on Saturday.

The other elected people are Rana Razzaq Anjum senior vice-president, Syed Nazar Mohyuddin vice-president, Rana Ghulam Sarwar Babar secretary-general, Saeed Anwar joint secretary, Zeeshan Anjum finance secretary and Haji Abdul Shakoor secretary coordination.

The executive committee members include Javed Iqbal Nasir, Ataullah Butt, Tariq Mehmood Chaudhry and Asad Munir Ghuman.
