KARACHI, Nov 28: The National Shooting Championship will be held here at Naval Shooting Complex from Feb 8 to 15 next year, an official of National Rifle Association (NRAP) announced Wednesday.
The event was scheduled to be held in October in Islamabad but because of unavailability of Army shooters after the postponement of 9th SAF Games, the nationals were postponed.
Parvez Abbasi, Senior Vice President, NRAP said that all pistol, rifle and shotgun events will be conducted during the championship both for men and women.
He said fresh dates for the nationals were finalized during the executive committee meeting of the association held earlier this month in Lahore.
While men will appear in 12 events including air pistol, centre fire pistol, free pistol, rapid fire pistol, standard pistol and big bore pistol.
Ladies will feature in four events including air pistol, sports pistol, air rifle and 40 shot prone pistol.
Pakistan Army will defend their titles in the championship but once against they will again be facing stiff challenge from Pakistan Navy.
Other teams taking part in the nationals include Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Ordinance Factory, Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan, University Grants Commission and Federal Rifle Association.—APP
