KARACHI, Feb 28: Khurram Hussain Agha reigns supreme and is on top in the Pakistan snooker rankings with a total 72 points.

Amazingly the 24-year-old cueist has still to win a ranking tournament, but he stayed as the No.1 contender for the last 18 months scoring vital points by reaching several finals and semifinals.

Moving from No.3 to the No.2 slot is the former world and Asian amateur champion Mohammad Yousuf who has accumulated 70 points.

Saleh Mohammad has dropped down to the No.3 spot from No. 2, although he is tied with Yousuf with 70 points.

The former world champion’s smashing victory against Saleh in the final of the nationals played at here earlier last month, went in favour of Yousuf.

The Latif Master’s champion Naveen Perwani, a losing finalist to Yousuf in last year’s nationals in Quetta, retains his No.4 ranking with 68 points and is followed by former national and junior champion Farhan Mirza, who is fifth with 61 points.

Imran Shahzad has climbed up a rung to be at No. 6 pushing down Atiq Latif Bux to the No.7 spot, although the two have 59 points apiece.

Shakeel Bhatti has moved up to No.8 spot from No.11 with 51 points, while Minhas Malik drops down one rung to No.9 with 46 points.

Punjab’s M. Faiq Malik has moved up to No.10 from No.13, accumulating 45 points.

Although Vishan Gir and Arifullah are tied with Faiq with 45 points they have to be content with the 11th and 12th positions. Left-hander Vishan moved up a step, but Arifullah fell from grace from No.10 to 12.

Amit Perwani, who had a miserable time at the Nationals also fell from grace from No.9 to 13, while Mohammad Nazir and Shah Khan are now at No.14 and 15.

Following is the ranking of the other top players on the circuit:

Mohammad Akhlas (Sindh) 16, Rambel Gul (NWFP) 17, Abu Saim (Punjab) 18, Shahdab Baig (Sindh) 19, Mohammad Shafiq (NWFP) 20, Ahmer Shaikh (Sindh) 21, Fahad Asif (Punjab) 22, Faisal Essa (Sindh) 23, Raja Rashid (Punjab) 24, Imran Mughal (Punjab) 25, Yousuf Haroon (Sindh) 26, Kashif Khan (NWFP) 27, Masood Ahmed 28, Nauman Awan (NWFP) 29, Raees Khan 30, Kamran Shah (Balochistan) 31, Saqib Butt (Punjab) 32, Mukhtar Khan (Sindh) 33, Arshad Siddiq (NWFP) 34, Jannan Khan (Balochistan) 35, Mohammad Asif 36, Mohammad Hussain (Balochistan) 37, Irfan Rashid Khan (Sindh) 38, Farhan Noor (Punjab) 39, Mustafa Hyder (Balochistan) 40, Yousuf Khan 41, Mohammad Zafran 42, Faroukh Osman (Sindh) 43, Najmur Rehman (NWFP) 44, Nadeem Rashid 45, Mohammad Shahid (Punjab) 46 and Mohammad Baqar 47.
