KARACHI, Feb 26: Half a dozen ships carrying crude oil, high speed diesel and tallow are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, APL Cairo, to unload and load containers, Challenger Express, to unload high speed diesel Bruce Park to offload chemicals, Medimar and Bow Viking to load naphtha and molasses respectively.

For the second day in a row sailings were fairly active as seven ships departed. They are: Kota Itan, Conti Hong Kong, Kota Wirawan, Australia Bridge, Effy-N, Bruce Park and Al Cyonida.

APL Cario, Kaghan, Thia Chryssoula, Hyundai Advance, Medimar and Challenger Express are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 66,513 tons comprising 24,967 tons of export cargo including 3,321 tons of rice and 41,546 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: North Sea Anvil, with high speed diesel, Sorena, with crude oil, Bow Sky, with tallow, Al-Mirqab, Sima Bahar and India Star with containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Feb 26: Two ships carrying containers and general cargo were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release here on Wednesday.

Berth occupancy remained modest as fours ships, CMA CGM Capela, Tern, Chem Road Mega and Edco Star were busy in loading/offloading containers, general cargo, edible oil and iron.

A cargo volume of 35,532 tons comprising 25,672 tons of import cargo and 9,860 tons of export tonnage inclusive of cargo carried in 1,400 containers was handled.

Chem Road Mega sailed out, while CMA CGM Capela was due to leave. Astro Pegasus was expected to take berth at Fotco Oil Terminal on Wednesday.
