KARACHI, Nov 28: Unknown assailants entered a house in Model Colony on Wednesday and shot dead Saeed, 30, and wounded his brother Kamran Ahmed 27.

Three persons, riding a yellow cab, came to house No 46-B, Model Colony, knocked at the door and asked for water just before Iftar.

As Saeed went to fetch water, the armed men followed him, and opened fire on both the brothers and escaped, police said.

Saeed died on the spot, while Kamran was shifted to JPMC where doctors said the victim sustained two bullet wounds. His condition was stated to be serious. The police are investigating the case.

KILLED: A young man was killed by unknown men in Gadap on late Tuesday night.

Police said Shafeeq Ahmed, 25, a labourer at a poultry farm, went out of his home in Kuchi Camp on Tuesday night. His body was found in bushes.

Police said the victim was badly beaten with sticks. The body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a postmortem.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in separate road accidents in the city on Wednesday.

A woman died in traffic accident in Nazimabad on Wednesday. Police said Marium Nooreen, 45, run-over by a rashly driven vehicle near Nazimabad Chowarngi No 1. She was an employee of the A.O. Clinic Nazimabad.

In another accident, a labourers Mohammad Murad, 23, was hit and crushed by a truck in Quaidabad on Wednesday.

Police said that victim was labourer at a rice gowdown, the truck driver escaped from the spot.

The victim was rushed to the JPMC, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
