KARACHI: Woman killed

KARACHI, Feb 17: A young woman was killed in Gulistan-i-Jauhar late Sunday night.

The police said that the blood-soaked body of Nuzhat Iqbal, aged 30, was found in the parking lot of Rabia City in block 17 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Monday morning. There were injury marks on the dead woman’s throat. The injuries were inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon.

The woman was living with her sister in Rabia City after separation with her husband who lived in North Karachi. Nuzhat was married a year ago.

The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.

The police said that unknown persons killed her on the stair case of the building. When neighbours found her murdered they informed her younger sister.

The motive for the killing was not discovered till our going to press.

ROBBERY: Two armed men, riding a motorcycle, robbed a woman of gold jewellery in Azizabad on Monday.

Complainant Anees Sozer lodged an FIR at Azizabad police station that two bandits, riding a motorcycle, robbed his wife of her gold bangles at gunpoint in the lane between house Nos 1266 and 1267 in block 2, Azizabad.
