KHAIRPUR, Feb 16: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal MNA Maulana Asadullah Bhutto has deplored that the Sindh government has failed to provide any relief to people of the province.
He was speaking at an Eid Milan Party, hosted in his honour by a local leader of the Jamaat-i-Islami in Setharja on Saturday night.
He said that injustices, unemployment, kidnappings, price hike, corruption and other problems were continuing in the province.
He said that the October elections had proved to be only a change of faces as they had brought no change in the lives of the people.
The Maulana said that the government had failed to bring about changes in the national and foreign policies.
He said that the people would never accept anyone who worked for benefit of other countries instead of Pakistan.
He called upon the Muslims countries to unite and work for peace.
SUICIDE: A villager, Abdul Ghafoor Tanwri, 30, committed suicide by taking a pesticide in Tanwri village near Hingorja on Saturday night.
Cause of the suicide could not be ascertained.
WOMAN KILLED: A 70-year-old woman was killed after being attacked by a man, who is said to be mentally deranged, on Wednesday in Pipri village near Tando Masti.
The elderly woman, Ms. Rahat, was attacked by the mentally- deranged man, Niaz Shah, who hit her with an earthenware pot after having barged into her house.
The killer was killed after being attacked by the woman’s pet dogs.
The son of the deceased has lodged a case with the Tando Masti police.
INJURED: Sher Muhammad Junejo was seriously injured in Raban village in the jurisdictions of B-section police station here on Thursday after being attacked by four persons armed with axes while he was working in his fields.
The injured was later sent to Larkana for treatment.
ROBBED: Some unknown armed men robbed villagers at the Pir Hothi bus stand, near Khairpur city, on Monday night.
They were deprived of their cash and jewellry.
The robbers also injured some of the villagers when they tried to offer resistance.
