KARACHI, Feb 16: Fifty-three vehicles — 15 cars and 38 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city in the past one week, the police said.

According to figures provided by the Central Police Office, four cars were hijacked and 10 others were stolen in the week, Feb 10-16.

Most of the cars were hijacked/stolen in Ferozabad, Kharadar, Gulistan-i- Jauhar, Artillery Maidan and Al-Falah police limits.

Five motorcycles were hijacked. Thirty-three others were stolen.

Most of the motorcycles were hijacked/stolen in Saeedabad, Garden, Sachal, Gulzar-i-Hijri, Saddar, Site, Defence, Aziz Bhatti, Korangi Industrial Area and Nazimabad police limits.

The police claimed to have recovered 41 vehicles — 15 cars and 26 motorcycles — in the past one week.
