BAHAWALPUR, Feb 15: The alleged killer of eight women was produced before a magistrate in Ahmadpur East on Saturday for recording his statement.

Proceedings were continuing till filing of this report in the evening.

Abdul Razzaq allegedly raped and killed eight aged women during the past two years in the suburbs of Ahmadpur East.

Dawn learnt that rape and murder cases are yet to be registered against him. It is expected that city police will complete all legal formalities by Monday.murders: Two women were murdered in Bahawalpur and Yazman on Friday.

Ms Gulshan was shot dead by her husband Altaf, who suspected her character. Later, he surrendered before the Yazman police.

Murid Husain allegedly murdered his sister Maqsood Mai alias Sassi in Mauza Haji Jhabhal over a matrimonial dispute and buried her body under sand in the Bakkar Mandi area.

Murid is still at large.

EXAM RESULTS: The Islamia University on Saturday announced the results of MSc applied psychology first annual examinations, 2002.

According to the gazette notification, 18 of 39 candidates were declared successful showing pass percentage of 46.

In B.Com second annual examinations, 2002 (part-I), held in November last, 171 candidates of 260 were declared pass showing pass percentage of 65.76.

ACCIDENT: Abdul Rehman of Liaquatpur was killed when his head struck against an electricity pole along railway track near Samasatta on Saturday.

He was travelling by Rohri Express up to Vehari.
