143 prisoners set free

GUJRANWALA, Feb 11: District and Sessions Judge Riazul Hassan Alvi on Tuesday set free 143 prisoners involved in minor crimes, on Eidul Azha.

Mr Alvi visited a jail and got the list of the prisoners involved in minor cases. He ordered releasing these prisoners without delay.

The prisoners thanked the judge for setting them free on Eid.

POWER THEFT: A Gujranwala Electric Power Company team on Tuesday caught 25 people stealing power for domestic and commercial purposes in Eminabad Town.

Led by a SDO, the team removed their meters and other equipment and issued them detection bills.

Later, the raiding team restored their connections on payment of the detection bills the same day.
