SIALKOT, Feb 11: A landlord’s wife and sister-in-law were gang-raped allegedly by three people in Bahu Bhatti village, Muradpur police station precincts on Monday night.
An influential vagabond, Afzal, and his two accomplices burst into landlord Bashir Ahmad’s house and tied the male family members in a room. Armed and aggressive, the intruders held up the landlord’s wife and sister-in-law and raped them for hours.
The vagabonds left the house threatening the inmates that they would return soon.
Muradpur police have registered a case with no arrest so far.
SHOT DEAD: Robbers shot dead a trader and plundered cash and valuable worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in various parts of the district in the last 24 hours.
Three robbers stormed into trader Muhammad Younis’ house at Loharan locality and held up the inmates. The intruders beat up the women and shot dead Younis on resistance before fleeing.
Local traders later demonstrated against this incident and blocked traffic for 15 minutes on the main Sialkot-Uggoki-Wazirabad Road.
Four armed men drove away with a tractor-trolley laden with 200 rice bags on the Satrah-Pasrur Road in Daska tehsil.
On the Nasir Road near Civil Lines, two armed men stormed into USA returned Dr Naeem Afzal’s house, held up the family and fled with cash, gold ornaments, a licensed rifle and a mobile phone set worth Rs500,000.
Four robbers plundered cash, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs250,000 from lawyer Mian Fayyaz Ahmad’s house at Fatehgarh.
Robbers took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs150,000 from Saifullah’s house in Lalal Syedan village.
Police have registered separate cases.
