HYDERABAD, Feb 9: The Edhi Foundation on Sunday criticized the ban on collection of hides of sacrificial animals.
While talking to Dawn, a spokesman for the foundation deplored the forcible occupation of its Ranipur centre and criticized the demolition of its Kandiaro centre.
Ironically, he said, while the administration itself called on the Edhi Foundation to provide help in times of natural disasters, accidents and droughts, it (administration) had imposed curbs on the collection of hides of sacrificial animals, adding that it would hamper efforts of the foundation to mitigate sufferings of the poor.
Stressing the need to broaden the scope of social services besides making them more effective, he said that the foundation would continue to serve humanity despite shortage of funds.
