Teachers salary looted

SHIKARPUR, Feb 8: Two men robbed a school headmaster of teachers’ salary, amounting to Rs274,610, in Ghaghrani street near Bhitai Bazaar here on Friday.

The headmaster of the Government Boys’ Primary School, Sultankot, Nazar Mohammad Katpar, and two teachers were returning after withdrawing the money from the National Bank’s Stuart Ganj branch when the robbers, riding on a motorcycle, intercepted and looted them.

Meanwhile, a grain merchant, Bandah Ali, was deprived of Rs20,000 by three robbers at gunpoint in Sui Gate locality here.

The robbers robbed the merchant while he was on the way to his grain company after withdrawing the money from the Muslim Commercial Bank, Stuart Ganj branch.

The police have registered the cases.
