HYDERABAD, Feb 7: The councillors of union council-13, Latifabad, staged a demonstration and observed a hunger strike outside the press club here on Thursday against non-allocation of uplift funds.
Talking to newsmen, union council Nazim Saifur Rehman, Naib Nazim Sultan Khan and others said roads, drains and school buildings were in dilapidated condition and the water supply system had collapsed.
Latifabad Taluka Nazim Abdul Jabbar Khan, along with the taluka officer, visited the hunger strike camp and assured the protesters development works would be initiated in the union council. On this assurance, the councillors called off their hunger strike.
