RAWALPINDI, Feb 5: The students of 45 schools through tableau competitions demanded of the world democracies to implement the UN resolutions in Kashmir and save people from state terrorism committed by the Indian government.

Two tableau competitions were held in the city in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day on Wednesday.

Students of 30 schools participated in a competition that was organized by National Council of the Arts (NCA) in collaboration with All Pakistan Private Schools Management, Rawalpindi district, at Liaquat Memorial Hall. While the other competition was arranged by Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) in which students of 15 schools took part.

A large number of students belonging to some other schools, who were holding a debate competition in the lawn of Liaquat hall, tried to enter the already jampacked hall to enjoy the stage performance.

However, the organizers did not allow them to enter the hall and a scuffle broke out between the students and organizers.

The teachers intervened and ultimately succeeded in refraining the students from entering the venue.

Meanwhile, the audience appreciated the performance by the students during tableaux. The children performed on various songs devoted to Kashmir cause.

The spectators greatly appreciated a performance by a schoolgirl on a famous track of a Pakistani movie “Yeh Aman”.

Through their performance, the students showed solidarity with the Kashmiris and highlighted the need for implementation of UN resolutions.

District Nazim Tariq Kiani, Tehsil Nazim Hamid Nawaz and Tehsil Naib Nazim Sajjad Khan were special guests on both the occasions. Later trophies were distributed among the winning students.

The Nazimeen expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and reiterated to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the freedom movement.
