HYDERABAD, Feb 4: The newly-elected office-bearers of the Sindh Azad Hari Union have said the purpose of the union is to organize peasants on one platform so that a joint struggle can be launched against atrocities of feudal lords, administration and police.

Speaking at a news conference at the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan office here on Tuesday, union president Lal Jee, vice-president Bhumo Kolhi and general-secretary Ahmad Khan Dars said due to the absence of a peasants’ representative organization in the past, peasants were subjected to inhuman atrocities.

They said the union would also try to rescue peasants who were being subjected to unlawful labour.
